I live and work in Washington, DC. I am Food and Drink Editor for DCist. I have contributed to Washington DC’s City Paper, the Express published by The Washington Post, and Sugar Savvy and Paper Palate on the Well Fed Network. I’ve also discussed food on the Kojo Nnamdi show on WAMU.
I believe opinions are relative. I make no claims to have any authority on food or any other topic for that matter. I don’t like mushrooms, except for oyster mushrooms and chanterelles. Hate unripe tomatoes. I eat pretty much everything else. But I would probably not eat monkey brains from a monkey that is still alive and screaming.
I hate the bad sampler cheeses at Whole Foods. They usually stink and the rest of your shopping trip is full of foul cheese breath.
Fusion unless it’s homegrown is evil. I’ll leave fusion to the cosmo-drinking, Blahnik-wearing crowd. Give me Spanish tapas, Malaysian street food or pho any day.
I’m a lifelong Marylander minus a year in London. I love travel, music, dancing, soccer, rock climbing, college basketball, politics, economics, smelling my guitar, piano, photography, architecture, media and advertising. Just about anything related to the fine arts or design.

By accident or coincidence, I found this site (I was looking for a sauce recipie for a “special” I’m running tonight),and I’ve just finished reading the front page and about. Usually I wouldn’t post on another’s blog without knowing them, but a few synchronous things happened while browsing your page. I was making a mix for a friends website called Girlfriend>Synesthesia, it’s a mix about my favorite songs that I strongly associate with girlfriends from the past (The synthesia intrigued me about your site, so I browsed), On the mix I have that Joy Division song follwed by a Elliot Smith song, I scrolled down and looked at the top post and saw the Pork post which reminded to check the loins that I have in the oven, after checking them I continued to browse and read your almost rant on the movie 21, I lausghed out loud because my exgirlfrend who reminds me of “Love Will Tear Us Apart” introduced me to Bringing Down The House, we then had a disscusion about shitty Film/book adaptaions in 2004, when I turned 21. Anyway, I thought it was funny and enjoy your site. I also like the smelling your gutiar bit, clever and funny.
I also love the two hearted beer from Bell’s.
I just happened across your page looking for a name for my homemade beer clone of the same.
I am a hop lover and grow my own hops.
OK I’m really hungry now for some odd reason!
God bless you, and my brew.
